Bobby FisherDirector of Administrative Programs Bobby has spent his entire life as a resident of the Mississippi Delta. He was born in 1961 in Drew, where his late father (Bobby Sr.) was a high school football coach before returning to his roots, the real estate industry. Bobby grew up in this family real estate business. The family home backed up to Blue Lake Bayou where Bobby’s childhood days were spent building forts, riding motorcycles, and fishing in the bayou’s black waters. A few miles up the road from the state penitentiary, it wasn’t uncommon for the boys to be sent to their houses while an escaped convict was rounded up. An avid wing-shooter, Bobby spent the late summers with his friends preparing dove fields for the annual Labor Day weekend shoot. Winters brought duck hunts in the bayous and sloughs around Drew and quail hunting near his grandparents’ home in the hills of Holmes County. The sights and smells of the rich alluvial soils were deeply ingrained in Bobby from the beginning. Graduating from Ole Miss with a degree in real estate in 1983 and a law degree in 1986, Bobby returned with his wife, Catherine, to the Delta – moving to Greenwood in 1986. Active in North Greenwood Baptist Church and the Greenwood-Leflore County Chamber of Commerce, Bobby and Catherine raised their two sons in Greenwood. Martin is associate director of admissions at Ole Miss and lives with his wife Stephanie in Oxford. William is a graduate assistant in the student conduct office while working on his masters. Bobby’s career has revolved around the real estate industry practicing law, brokering farmland and recreational properties, and teaching real estate courses to university students. He now serves in an administrative and compliance capacity managing the day-to-day branding, marketing, budgeting, and administration of the company.
